“Black Rhino/RacerX Motorsports’ Jerett Brooks Earns 3rd Victory of the Season in Reno”
El Cajon, Ca.- September 2, 2015 – Black Rhino/RacerX Motorsports athlete Jerett Brooks secures two Top 5 finishes including his 3rd win of the year in the Pro Lite division of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series held in Reno, NV. Brooks was able to bounce back from a tough weekend of racing at the previous rounds of LOORRS held in Baja, Mexico and responded with a strong 5th place finish in Saturday’s Round 13 race action and an impressive race win in Sunday’s Round 14 race.
Brooks felt great all weekend and the team had his truck set up perfectly for the challenging track conditions at Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno, NV. Brooks was able to set the fastest qualifying time in the ultra competitive Pro Lite division. The inversion however did not work in Brooks’ favor as he drew a number 4 which put him outside row 2 to start Sunday’s Round 14 race.
As soon as the green flag waived Brooks started his quest to take home the victory and immediately moved from 4th place to a battle for 2nd. He had stiff competition ahead of him as the 1st and 2nd place drivers were the current points leader as well as the defending series champion. Brooks methodically worked his way around the track looking for his opportunity to make a move on the drivers sitting in front of him. He briefly made it to the lead with only a few laps to go but was pushed back to 3rd place temporarily before making his final move. Brooks on the last lap in the last turn sitting in 3rd position saw an opening and dove his truck to the inside line and was able to complete the pass on both drivers taking the checkers with an amazing last lap pass!
“I can’t tell you how pumped I am to get back on the top of the box especially knowing I sit 2nd in points and have to make up ground every race.” says Jerett Brooks. “Being able to compete with RJ Anderson and Sheldon Creed and making that last lap pass is an amazing feeling and gives me a ton of confidence going into these final races of the season!”
Brooks will compete next at Rounds 15 & 16 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series to be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV. He will look to build off his latest victory and continue working towards his season goal of becoming the 2015 Pro Lite Champion.
